I like camping at Rausch. Probably camped there about half a dozen or more times now. No issue at all. Sometimes there are loud/noisy campers (but AAOA has the same.) It’s always been fun with a bunch of us NOOBS. We’ve camped together several times @HolyHandGrenade @Manual man74 @Sub-Zero @stairgod

Loud, drunken and obnoxious Htr might show up. But then everyone just wanders over to the cool campfire

There was a 1st gen truck theft off of the RC parking lot, but @cynicalrider and @Sub-Zero returned it without damage and jail time.

AAOA camping can be loud as well. IMO there’s no difference compared to RC.

I think the trails at RC are more challenging. That AAOA has great, tight trails and maybe more of them to explore. Camping is equal IMO.

I guess Rausch Camping isn't out of the question...It's totally dependent on who ends up camping those nights. I only camped there in the summer, and every site was filled and unfortunately it only takes one group of loud drunks to ruin the experience. Maybe those kind don't camp in early spring?
But expensive camping does not sound good either when we are already paying the increase in price at Rausch. We can always have a back-up camp ground in the event Rasuch camping is overly crowded?

I think our best bet is to plan on camping there and just hope for the best. I guess worst case we just move over to the parking lot and camp there

We can always call the office and see if any reservations were made to see what kinda turnout they expect. There's no big events that weekend so hard to say.
