I like the 3/8” Dewalt impact much better.

Compact and much lighter. That 1/2” is a heavier fucker that’s sometimes tough to get into tighter places.

That looks like the size of their 1/4" screw driver impact but in 3/8" hmmm very handy!

Pretty much. Torque is a little higher I think.

    Don’t need the 1/4” to 3/8” adapter

Oh I agree! A real impact like that is much better

This is the one I am talking about, I have it, it's awesome for certain jobs like putting a metal roof on, building a deck, driving lags, taking small bits off the truck, etc. You can get it in the XR also which I think is their brushless line and I think that may be a little more compact.

That's the driver I call an impact. Came with my drill/driver kit. And in the 6 piece kit. I use that for everything. My drill only drills holes now.

It is an impact it just uses the 1/4" female hex drive instead of a male 1/4,3/8,1/2 square drive. But it works the same way

Those flex volt tho! My bosses went crazy this year and bought for like 50K in dewalt tools and flex volt stuff. Those things are awesome
but 1/4 impact is more versatile imo, but still, depends on the work we have to do

Now all they need to do is come out with a 1/4", 3/4" and 1" square drive for you to get! Then you would have all the impacts. Do you like the XRs I just have the regular one and like it quite a bit just don't know if the xr is worth the extra $$$

I love powertools! Just don't have reasons to have them all! Haha would like sawzall and skillsaw, and a 4 or 5 ah battery, those thing are pricy!

When I heavily used my 18v tools, I changed brushes fairly frequently. Two tools I completely burned out.

I think the brushless stuff gives a little more power and is a little lighter and more compact than their brush cousins.

But I don’t do any heavy duty work with tools anymore, so it’s moot.

The shit just looks cool in my garage corner. :)

I don’t have any good reasons to have them as well.

Never had to replace any of the brushes in my old 18 and 12v stuff from dewalt I have broken a bunch of other stuff in them. I have been extremely happy with my dewalt stuff and luke warm to the makita stuff I have. I am extremely hard on tools and put them through the test. Hence having 3 1/2" air impacts one was always sent off getting rebuilt.

    It kicks ass.

But I think a lot has to do with the included “FlexVolt” 7-1/4” saw blade. It has a slippery blade coating with a much thinner kerf than a standard construction blade. Cuts through wood with minimal effort.

My little brother is a Makita/Porter Cable fan. My bro-in-law is a Milwaukee fan.

This is all good, because when we get together for a big family project, there’s no tool mix up.
