Night all. Wife and I are burning the midnight oil tonight. Had a nice fire in the driveway (really need to pour a patio in the back yard) and made Smores. Taking advantage of the 3 day weekend. We have a state holiday (Pioneer Day) tomorrow so neither of us have to be up early or go to work! :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

He really does. He made my bedsides on my last truck, as well as a couple other stickers. Great guy to work with.

Yikes! Glad the Subie was unscathed!

If I had the money, I would be driving a STi w/manual trans as my daily and only using the truck for fun/hauling.

Someday I will drive a car that makes chu chu noises! (MCM reference)

EST life lesson for the day. If a mustang is sitting in the middle of an intersection, investigate it.

But really though, this car was just chilling, with no hazards on and no one near it. Cars were just going around it, so I investigated. Peered in and saw it was a manual, and knew that it had been parked in neutral with no E brake.

I proceeded to push it back to its parking spot, while my wife grabbed our old welcome mat to shove behind the tire. We were at our old townhouse, doing final cleaning, and that's all we had on hand.

I run back out to leave a note, and the dude was sitting in the car. I told him what happened and he was very appreciative. Then a cop rolled up saying he was getting calls about the car, and we explained what happened. He just chuckled and drove away.

It is amazing to think the kind of things that could be prevented and mitigated in one's neighborhood if people would just stop or at least slow down for two seconds and think about it.

For example, the other night I got home from work around midnight...noticed my next door neighbors garage door was open. So I went inside and the whole time I was downloading and changing out of my uniform, it bugged me, so I shot him a text. No reply by the time I finished changing my clothes. So I walked over, noted both vehicles were there and did the old beat the door over the laser limbo and shut it for him. Again texting him telling him I had secured it for the night. Woke up the next morning to a very grateful text message because he had no clue one of his kids had left it open.

My neighbor and I have the same understanding. If its getting late and it's still open, shoot a text. One time he texted me that my truck door was open :anonymous:
