I would only put the propane tank there when I go camping! Wouldn’t want it to grow legs and walk away.

Check out this one, they have a 10lb option but quick look I don’t see dimension. I have the 5lb version and it works with my 6lb aluminum tank. I even added a pad lock to it.

I’ve got the mounting situation figured out! Mobtown joe has been wanting to design a propane tank holder, so I had the tank shipped to him and he’ll design one.

I think it's extremely stupid to mount a pressurized flammable liquid gas like propane on your bumper. That is an explosion you don't want if rear-ended. And, oh yeah, let's also put 5 gallons of gasoline right next to it.
Isn't there a federal law on how gas tanks like propane have to be transported?

I’m sure there are plenty of laws for commercial carriers, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t any for personal use.

Nope. I generally slow down and look both ways though. I’ve seen the arms fail to go down alerting of an oncoming train in person before, so now I’m extra cautious.

Only for interstate commerce. For personal use you can transport almost whatever gas/fld you want. You are worried about that yet there are batteries mounted in every vehicle along with gas in the gas tanks, and other flammable liquids and materials all over the vehicles.
