i didnt sleep that well last night. I didnt want to go and get "lunch" when I woke up. I had 3 eggs for my breakfast. But lunch, wasnt that great. When my co-worker gets in in an hour, I might just go to Chic Fil A.

Sorry to hear that man. I absolutely hate sleeping poorly, which always happens to me when I'm working nights.

    Painting my Wheels

    Parts list
    • 1 can self etching primer
    • 3 cans rustoleum satin black paint
    • 1000 grit sand paper
    • denatured alcohol
    • dish soap
    • gloves
    • face mask

So I started by cleaning off the wheels really well with dish soap and a brush, to get the initial grime off. I followed that up with 1000 grit wet sand to take off the clear coat and rough up the surface. After rinsing them off, I blew them off with a leaf blower to get out any hiding water. I didn't want it dripping on my wet paint. I followed that up with alcohol and a microfiber to get off any remaining gunk.

Remember kids, safety first. This $5 mask was awesome, and I didn't smell any fumes through it at all.

    IMG_1102.jpg

While I was at it, I painted the drums. I tried getting them off by whacking the perimeter with a hammer, but they didn't come off. I know about the two threaded holes, but didn't feel like hunting through my bolts to see if any fit. I taped off the studs and painted them on the truck.

    IMG_1105.jpg IMG_1106.jpg

After letting them dry for a few hours, I mounted them! They're still a tiny bit tacky, but I was careful not to touch the wheel itself during reinstall. I don't plan on driving for a few days so they can cure.

Thank you! I'm extremely happy with how they turned out. Next step is tinted windows to tie it together.

Hell no, I always leave that to the pros. I'm only gonna get the front two done to match the rear, so it'll be like $70.

That's absurd. I've never paid more than $250 to have a car done, and that's with quality tint all around and a windshield brow.

Are you gonna get the rear window done now that you have a cap with no window on there?
