    Your looking for oil mixing into your coolant. Appear like a coffee with heavy cream mix.

    I'll look for those sign for sure! as said, each time I get under the truck, I look for it, but I'll have a more attentive look at it now. PCV valve is something I'll look for too. I don't really know what it does, but if it is related, I'll change it
    I just tagged you, no panic!:wink:

    Yep that's the plan! better quality oil and thicker also

    For reference I am sitting just below 200k and I run 10w30 Castrol High Mileage. I am a big fan of Castrol and prefer it over pretty much any other oil. Why because reasons. But IMO Mobil1 is not that great of oil.

    It's more of a flow vs film tradeoff when you go up or down in weight. Louis live in the great white North and his truck may take longer to reach temp. He could do some damage from thicker oil.

    PCV= Positive Crankcase Ventilation

    At idle the vacuum to it is high thus allowing it to open and vent the crankcase when on throttle accelerating the opposite occurs at steady cruise like down the highway it'll open a little and allow the crankcase to vent. If it is stuck open then it just allows venting at all times. They should be changed every 60k give or take. It's cheap and very overlooked.

    Yeah exactly! In the grand scheme of things it wouldn't have even really save me money, and it's only a few days longer wait anyways. Well worth it.

    It is hard to have an opinion on oil without any good personnal experience with some brands vs another. I think most people here uses Mobile1 because most use Mobile1 lol I use April because I have a discount, it is fully synthetic, and I change it often. I'll jump to 5w30 and see the difference, if nothing, I'll look into another solution. but again, it doesn't bother me that much since I check it often, I change It often, and I don't do a mess everywhere I park lol

    Marketing Hype. There is a reason Castrol has the majority of race teams supplied with oils. Hell they have a wing dedicated just to developing oils for John Force Racing! Mobil1 isn't all it's cracked up to be they don't use the quality base oils that Castrol, Valvoline, Royal Purple, etc. use and yet charge a premium for their product. Back in the day they were good. As far as manufacturers using them that's a business thing whoever bids the cheapest.

    Your PCV recycles unexploded gas/air mixture out of the crank back into the intake for another shot at boom boom. It's prevents it from getting trapped and gunking shit up.

    All modern engines today have emissions stuff added in. The piston crank case ventilation valve is one that most miss on regular maintenance. Not super important but needs to be done from time to time. There is also the secondary air injection pump. Not sure if you this. I call emissions stuff junk FYI. They help them to run as designed unfortunately lol

    Damn right!! Now that I'm on hold with this, I can devote my full time to it.

    Although if I was feeling wild I could unbolt my rear driveshaft and go on a FWD test drive and see if the vibes stop. Hmmm

    I wouldn't necessarily say they charge a premium. I use mobil 1 because it's some of the cheapest oil I can find while still being halfway decent.

    Going from a 5 to a 10w30 won't be enough to do anything. The big reason why such a low weight oil at startup is emissions. Hence why Honda recc. 0w30 in their newer cars they want that engine to heat up quicker and get into closed loop and burn less fuel.

    Nah. You would be killing valuable time you could spend taking off body panels from the truck
