I can't speak for everyone but I did it because it was something I could do to help make it a little more different. When I did it no one was doing it. Just a handful of us. Mostly though I thought it made the two windows appear as one large one and to me, without it the cab looks more like a double cab. It served no other purpose than to show fingerprints more. It also allows more of the Inferno paint to show. Which is really the main reason. I am not trying to impersonate a 2nd gen, and it just so happens it is something some engineer decided would be a cool to include on the 3rd gens. I think the side view mirror bottoms being black is another. I don't get that either. If it bugged me enough I would have them painted.

I also removed the pinstripes because, well, they were freakin' silver. Silver on a orange truck was dumb. If they were black I would have left them on. I like pin strips, which seem to be the norm in this thread, albeit the au natural version. I've seen some some cool barbed wire pin strips I would like to put on but I am too lazy. If I am not replacing something I take off, it is staying off.

Yea, I am in no rush. I am a balls to the wall kinda guy (but also unlucky and clumsy as hell) so if I rush into it I know I will wind up regretting something stupid I did.

Well, I'm a work from home guy so that will be a huge plus for you and the fam unit. More of me more of the time!
