Yea, as soon as I have some disposable income.

We just chunked down a huge amount of change on a Florida vacation for a week in September. 4 story house with rooftop sunset views of the Gulf, nonstop round trip air fare, and a convertible rental car. Plus we need to allow for expenses. We don't cook in on vacation. We also buy booze and beer for the place to pregame before going out at night, and for the beach.

I doubt very much I will ever be as avid an off roader as all of ya'll but I would like to do it a couple times at least. I just want to be prepared when the time comes. I tend to overthink everything though. I plan on driving this truck into the ground though and I only want to buy a lift kit once. I'm not into any more than 3" so I have some positive options.

Take the vacation. Live your life. Cancel the lift & just add a red grill. This all of in itself will make you custom & more off road capable. I know for a fact as I know a guy from an internet forum who belongs to a cult within the forum who had it done.

Heck yeah. Maybe later I’ll go to the store and get some, but it’s unlikely.

Took my back two skids off in preparation for (hopefully) a reroute tomorrow. I say hopefully because I haven’t talked to the shop yet. No idea what they’ll charge.

I'm not sure if I can ignore this potential head gasket problem anymore. While removing skids, I noticed some pink fluid under there. Per my suspicions, the fill tank had overflowed. I've been running hotter, have a gurgling sound behind the dash, and now this. And 2005 are notorious for HG problems. Going to do some more serious investigation/trouble shooting and then get it fixed in the next few months if necessary before something more serious goes wrong. I don't want to overheat and get stranded in the middle of nowhere

Completely agreed. Though I'd rather it happen now when we could easily afford the repair, than in a year when I'm out of the Navy. Who knows how much my next job will be paying.
