So guys, been dumb I think

    Let me explain

I wanted a "satoshie" style grill. Made it myself a few years ago. Go an aftermaket grill and cut and bla bla bla. Surround and grill were in two pieces. I melted down the tabs, so it stays in place forever(dumb move #1). Then painted it black. Didn't like it. Took the grill off and put back the oem for the time I get it color match. Finally got it color match, 2 years ago, but today, I'd like to put the color match surround on the oem grill. Took the oem grill, broke the tabs off of the surround (dumb move #2) to see how I can stick it back on before removing the color match one. As of right now, I have no solutions... grill and surround don't have enough flat surface in contact to use 3M two way tape.... i surely don't want to stick it with a bead of caulking

So how can I stick it back together? Remind that on the color match one, tabs are melted. I'll have to break them to remove it. I have to stick it back together without tabs. :help:

Oh shit Louis. You’ve screwed the pooch on this one lol. What about a thick sort of glue and just glue the two together?

Stuff like jb weld? I don't really mind having screwed the oem one since I don't want to chrome back on. I did broke the tabs to be in real situation with the melted tabs of the red one (yeah melting was dumb for sure)

Just want to be sure the kind of glu I'll be using will hold. i don't want to see my surround fly on the highway since it is my last chance lol no spare grill

Or if something, I may get something else for the center of the grill instead of the mesh I have with hellas (not wired:anonymous:) behind it lol

Do I have to make an exterior bead with the jbweld or only fill the inside groove and let it sit so it can stick? If I try it on the oem with chrome and it works, i am screwed lol i have to take it off so I can stick the red one.

    Im screwed in all ways

    Dang!

I think some jb weld or something similar would hold just fine if properly applied! On stewie, I had a customcargrills grille on my truck. I was just held on with glue and was rock solid.

Check my edit above Louis. Custom Car Grills uses Goop. The trick is to lay down a nice bead, drop the mesh into it and then add more on top so that the mesh is suspended in the glue.

Well I guess what I mean is, if that glue will hold the mesh into the main grill, as heavy as it is, it will definitely hold the surround on, but you better like the result because that will be permanent.

Remove stock skid. Remove those stock skid braces right underneath it. Use that hardware for the front 4 holes on beefy skid. Use the little black 12mm for the back two holes on beefy skid.
