Yeah, have to be tomorrow once the rain stops. Hoping its just a fuse somewhere not letting the battery power get thru the box or something.

It's gotta be a fuse....or some mice or chipmunks had a little to much fun on some wires!

If you're unsure the battery is completely dead, it's nutty and risky in the rain, but you can't hurt anything putting a set of jumper cables on the battery terminals and quickly touching the other two ends together to see if you get a spark.

If there is spark then it sounds like a fusible link or the main fuse. Follow the positive and negative wires back to the other ends to see if those are loose. Then try to locate the main fuse and see if it is blown.

You can try taking each of the spark plug wires off and putting them right back on.

But fuses only blow when there is a more serious issue. Normally while things are working or trying to work.

I would check the battery with a multimeter. Last time my bitch wouldn't start, it turned out I was pulling 8v from the battery.

That might be why it's not clicking, unlocking etc.

Oh, then yea, it could just be a dead battery. But at least a light or something should come on. If it's weak.

Now, if the alternator was weak, or on it's last leg or just shut down, and all you were doing is running the engine, and no accessories, like heat or a/c or lights, and drove it home and parked it. You could have literally drove it home and killed the battery and not even known it.

And I mean dead dead. But it might be able to be recharged. The battery cable thing will tell you if it is dead dead. A tester is much safer. Someone near you has to have one if you don't, or they don't, then Harbor Freight sells them for under 10 bucks.

Those fusible links can come loose though. A bad ground like Richard said too. I hate electrical.

Jumped it with my jumpbox and so far it still running, something apparently was on or a door ajar, etc even tho I didnt find anything. Took the positive cable off and it didnt die so at least the alternator hasnt taken a dump. Fingers crossed it was just a blip in the matrix.

Was the winch power left on? I don't think this would drain the battery since it isn't under a load. But, you never know.

    Like I said..........I hate Electrical!!!!!!!

Glad you got it going. Take it to a auto parts place and let them test the battery for you for free, when you get a chance.
If the batt is dying, I will find that coupon from Toyota for the $99 battery deal. 84 months. 2 Year free replacement and 2 year roadside.

Glad you got it going. PARTY TIME!!!!!!!

If you got it running try taking it for a solid 15-20 minute drive at highway speeds to deep cycle the battery.

I think that's why some guys put those marine disconnects on their main winch power wire.

Are you talking about that power switch on the side of your winch? That only controls the wireless power. Your winch always has power since it’s hooked straight to the battery
