I have seen a lot of videos where they're removing sound deadening for roll cages (drift cars) with dry ice (not sure if it's hard to come by in your area), but they seem to have good results.

 

Someone else told me that earlier, so I watched a video of it and was thoroughly impressed. I drove around trying to find some with no luck, so I gave up and went back at it the hard way. Figured I'd spend just as long looking for ice when I could just get it off manually. Luckily with my new scraper and wire wheel it's relatively easy to get it off in big chunks
