A snorkel will help get cooler air into the engine. Not having to deal with the cold and snow is a plus too. So far, he's coming out ahead..

    Randall,
Sorry I missed all the beginning posts on this that lead up to the purchase but I thought you were gonna run the intake into the glove compartment because snorkels can't be made water tight?

What made you and everyone else decide on this model over any of the other offerings?

    Thanks,
    Rob

    Haha accurate Matt.

Rob, I originally was gonna route intake into the cabin. I decided against it due to noise. Then I was going to route up into the cowl area, but then this snorkel came along. I didn’t want any of the other offerings due to price but this one is so budget friendly. It can certainly be made waterproof (well, as much as I would want anyways). It’s not like I’ll be be fording through 4’ of water. Other things on the truck would break first.

I figured that I was stoked to get in the GB thought I was getting a good deal. Then I saw the one you got an my jaw dropped. I really like having it milage has increased if I drive normal but the newfound power is addicting.

Cool thanks Randy. I was just curious. I mean like you say, deep water is not my thing either but I was just curious why the change of direction.

I wonder if the intake of the snorkel could be replaced with that round type? I sorta feel that is a better design in foul weather, which is typically when i drive my truck the most.

You know, I'm at work, so there's that, and then there's the weather, we are finally getting a little winter type precip. Which is early for us. I saw at least 5 incidents on the way in. A spin out, a vehicles in a ditch, a bad smash em' up with 6 vehicles involved. Typical for Maryland. We have some of the most competent drivers in the world here. The drive home should be equally entertaining.

    How goes it there?

Not bad. I guess if it adds a benefit. Seems like a snorkel is not something I would need for a long time. I am gonna stay focused on armor for now I guess. It is a good price though, that's for sure.

I’m gonna do the cowl snorkel. My cfo has already voiced her opinion on a snorkel and how stupid they look when we passed struck with one.

Have you told her the story of your last outing? I would think that $250 like Randy spend would be a bargin compared to a new engine

Like I told them on the trip. She will never know. If she knew then I wouldn’t be going back.

Nice! Have a great time and be safe!

CNN has reported over 100 accidents here in Maryland so my commute home will definitely be interesting. I like it cold!
