My TW brethern, I am asking your opinion. I know spacer lifts are not popular, especially if you do any wheeling, how ever I am considering a small 3/4" spacer lift (1.5" total lift gain) to regain some of the droop (and a little more) that my Slimline bumper and 12k winch have caused.

Alternatives are;
- heavier springs. I currently have 650# rate coils. Heavier springs would mean stiffer ride.
- shocks with more spring perch options. This would preload the coils and also give a stiffer ride.
Currently I have Bilstein 5100s with 3 optional spring seat locations (0", .5", 1")
I can get 5100 B8s with 5 optional spring seat locations (0, .5, 1, 1.5, 2). This would only give me 1" of lift over my current set up.

I do not want to get into Fox, Kings, RadFlo, Icon, ARB, ect... Those will come when I do my 9" lift, long travel, quad-shock conversion and install twin turbos next month.

What are your current specs for your lift as far as what setting the coils are set at. I know a guy that ran 3/8" spacers it's not recc. but it worked.

I’m trying to get to that level.

 

Currently I'm have a Gen2 Tacoma T/X Baja suspension - Bilstein 5100s with 3 coil seat position options, I am using the top most option which provides 1" of lift.

 

I don’t think you need stiffer coils, just longer ones. My recommendation is to sell what you have and upgrade to 5100 and 886 coils. @UntamedTaco just swapped from 888 coils to 886 coils (a 660lb coil) and is now back to a full 3” lift with a front bumper and winch. The combo can be had new for ~$475 assembled and shipped through headstrong, and you could sell your current set up for probably $300-$400 off setting most of the cost.

 

^^^ What @EatSleepTacos said. I am happy with the 5100 and 886 combo. To be honest I barely notice a difference in the stiffness of the ride vs the 888s I had on before (which by the way are for sale). I do notice the gain in lift that I had lost after installing the steel bumpers and winch.
