Rock on! I was looking at the wiring diagram for the cluster again after our talk, and you can pull switched power from C9 pin 21 [violet] (same connector with the speed signal). Instead of pulling switched power from the dimmer rheostat like I did.

Good to know! I'm not too particular where I pull power from, so long as it works. I plan on running the wires a little longer and putting the unit inside that little cubby near your left knee. That way I can fine tune it, and make adjustments whenever I bump up in tire size.

That's not a bad idea. Mine is behind the cluster since I figured I shouldn't need to mess with it again anytime soon. I did make the wires long enough that I can pull it out to make adjustments with the dash torn apart and the cluster mounted.

I ended up buying a box of 5 different colored wires, 13' long rolls, 20 gauge thick. That way I can do this properly with different colored wires so it makes tracing them in the future easy if needed. Maybe remote mount the box in my center console? The options are endless! haha

Haha. I don't think that it need to be that accessible.

The spools of multiple colored wire are a good choice though. I've got the same in a couple different gauges.

Installed my Dakota speedo corrector. Took all of 15 minutes! Calibrated it, and so far up to 55 mph it’s dead on. Will verify it’s still accurate at highway speeds tomorrow.
