From what I can gather based on the picture of them my best guess is they are FJ Cruiser wheels.

If that's true then these are the specs I found online.

    7.5" wide, 4.5" BS and +15mm Offset.

Bout' time you chimed in. I thought you didn't love me anymore.

    Just kidding of course :D

Ok, I'll try to answer you as comprehensively as possible on a phone.

Yes, I wanted more lift up front. I don't mind the rake I have but if you remember the last time we met up I showed you and Randy how that passenger side tire was rubbing when I stuffed it on that curb (the chicken restaurant we all met at when I picked up the diff diaper from Randy). Knowing that I will eventually add a bumper (definitely that tube model from Mobtown) and a winch, and adding taller tires, I just assumed adding heavier coils would eliminate that rub and allow me to back off the notch settings on the 6112s to balance out the ride stiffness.

I said 700# only because I figured 50# extra to add lift, and the other 50# to maintain that lift after adding the bumper and winch. I realize I may have to deal with a stiffer ride until it all comes together and even possibly be higher in the front a little.

Trust me though, I'm not disputing anyone's knowledge about this because we all know I'm only going on instinct and what I'm reading online, not experience. Why I appreciate the replies from you and everyone else.

With that said, if the 650# coils will do what I want then perfect all around. And no, I especially don't want to do anything negative to void my warranty or damage my shocks.

I'm not sure where I saw 150 pounds for a winch. Maybe the shipping weight? You're right, the 12k pound version is only 99 pounds. Maybe that tube bumper is 150 pounds?

Thank you again Tyler for chiming in. You know I respect your knowledge a lot. Besides, you and Randy are basically my suspensions two Daddy's.
    :D

I will always love you Rob. I just dont get on TW much anymore.

Adding lift might, MIGHT caus you to stop rubbing, but is not guaranteed. It definitely helps, but can also sacrifice ride comfort as well as angles on certain components. I have no idea how far over stock you are currently, which is unfortunate because it would be a lot easier to pinpoint which coils would be better.

Rubbing when you stuff a wheel wont change a whole lot with a lift, because even if you get more lift, you will still be able to stuff the wheel to the same point, and still rub more than likely.

Things that affect rubbing more than lift are alignment and wheel offset. You have wheels, so you cant change that without going with a new set, so that's out. But you can change your alignment. I would play with that. If you're rubbing in the back of the well, push your caster forward. I would not push it back if you rub in the front, I would just trim plastic.

As for the weight of the tube bumper: I believe randy's tube bumper with a synthetic line on his winch is abround 140 combined, but he can correct me if I'm wrong. So that might be the weight you are remembering.

It is ultimately up to what you want to do, but I have seen a lot of people unhappy with the stiffness of 700 lb coils. If headstrong does not recommend them for 6112's, I would not get them. I would go with the 650lbs. A tube bumper with a synthetic winch will not cost you much lift height. Consider this: in order to add said bumper, think of how much you are removing. For you, you are removing a crash bar, a bunch of plastic, and Iirc you have a bar for lights? So all in all we'll say 20 lbs that you are removing to add 140 lbs. So you are only adding 120lbs over your current setup. If you were going with a full plate bumper with 3 hoops, that number would be closer to 180 depending on the model bumper. My suggestion is do the 650 since that's the highest HS suggests, and if you dont like it, worst case scenario you can pull them off, pop 700 on and sell the 650 and not be out that much money.

The easiest way to get rid of rubbing is to cut and trim. CMC, pinch weld, and plastic. If you do not feel comfortable doing that, I can always do it for you, either at my house or at yours.

Awww, Gee, right in the feelz!

    These are (were) the specs:
    OEM Wheels 17" x 7.5" ? BS, +30mm Offset - OEM Tires 265/65r17
    Ray 10s 17" x 8.5", 4.30" BS and -10mm Offset - Nittos are 265/70r17
    Steelies 17" x 7.5", 4.50" BS and +15mm Offset - Coopers will be 255/80r17

I found this handy dandy little tool today: And was able to create this:

    This OEM vs Current:

    upload_2019-8-30_17-36-7.jpg

And this is Current vs Winter Setup:

    upload_2019-8-30_17-39-11.jpg

Of course this is just a graphical representation. It doesn't know the geometry of the fender, brakes, or suspension. It does prove though that the 255/80r17 as Randy, you and others have said will be less maintenance.

This website is also useful if you switch the tabs at the top: OEM vs Current

See I assumed with stiffer springs that would be less likely..........or harder to do.

First thing I am going to do after I reset the passenger side shock to the 6th notch or the drivers side to the 5th so they both match to eliminate the lean is get another alignment. I am going to take it to someplace though that will be more acceptable to set that caster higher. I'm at like 3 or 3.5 positive now.

Yea, must be. It's not listed on the @Mobtown Offroad site. It does say that the max is a 10k lb winch so..........and I will go with synthetic line.

What Randall said too. I agree with both of youz. Especially with my luck.

I agree with all of this 100%

I appreciate the offer Cowboy! I am beyond the honeymoon phase of ownership. I would not hesitate to bend, chop, cut or remove anything. Within reason. This is not a dedicated trail rig and I am still vain AF so I would like to keep it purty. Yet functional.

The other thing I need to bring up and should definitely be taken into consideration is that the truck is unloaded front and back right now except for the aluminum tonneau.

Once I go with a High Clearance rear bumper like Jerry has and throw my spare on there, and then ultimately the cap, we are looking at an easy 500 lbs. I am sure that will in turn lift the front up some. Ya think?

Anyway, I hope your dragging something through the dirt this weekend with the boyz. Thanks for everything!!! :fistbump:

Sounds like you got it figured out some.

Once you put all that weight in the back, you're gonna want to upgrade your leafs for sure.

And I'm not doing anything this weekend. Decided not to go to ATR since my wife couldn't join me. I think we are going kayaking some tomorrow and maybe sunday, but that's about it.

"Some" is definitely the key word Brother. Why I need Y'all, and appreciate the help. I would prefer to only do these things once.

Yea, I figured the 3 leaf AAL would need to be switched out. I have had 400 lbs in the bed but it was distributed and only for a day. It dropped an inch. I measured. And that was on the road, not off at adverse angles or over bumps, etc.

Spending time with your wife enjoying the serenity of being on still water sounds fantastic! I hope you two have a great day!

Might I suggest you secretly pack a picnic basket and a blanket, a bottle of Chateau St Michelle Harvest Select (don't forget the bottle opener), maybe pack some fruit and cheese, and some french bread or some specialty crackers. Keep it simple. Oh and absolutely do not forget a small bunch of cut flowers.

I personally would never run an E rated tire on our rigs. They are too much. I am currently running D's and they are still too heavy. My next set I will be going back to LT rated in C's. When I ran BFG AT's in C on my moto metals, I averaged 18-19 mpg.

Now with my oem alloys and the D rated BFG AT's, I'm lucky to see 16 mpg. Luckily they are coming off as soon as I can get my LCA's replaced so I can get an alignment (definitely before the snow flies).

ST Maxx don't come in the C range as I recall. But I will say that my ST Maxx E's ride better than my friends KBro2 C rated tires.

Thanks Jaime! I'm contemplating running the white letters out and using an orange paint pen on them.

Sticking to C definitely limits tire choice.
