    I drove by the titan factory a few weeks back. Complete waste of a trip as the trail up to the lake was closed because of washout.

    When my dad and I bought an older Nikon off craigslist in Manassas, the guy we bought it from was a NatGeo photographer. We must have spent 3 hours at his place as he talked all about what the job was like, the super cool places you get to go to, how over it you are when you get back, etc.

    The job is a lot different than you'd expect. Sure you get to go to the Swiss Alps for work, but you are in a tent, battling the windchill, trying to get a shot of the damned greater spotted cuckoo who is purposely hiding from you, or at least it would seem.

    The funniest part is he went and found the camera bag it came with, and he tipped it over and like 6 different colors of dirt and sand shook out of it. That bag has been some places.

    You ain't kidding...my dog lost his mind about something in the yard about 0230...after my little friend and I went on patrol of the house and yard (found nothing), it had me so wound up I couldn't back to sleep until 430...alarm went off at 615. Got a total of like 3 hrs...

    I think my dog might have caught someone or something trying to come over the fence(live near undeveloped fields adjacent to the mountains so could have been anything from a coon to cougar) and his reaction caused them/it to think better of it...nothing like a 110 lb lab barking and growling to persuade better choices.

    You ever decide on a camera system? I need one....

    Any trail camera will catch the trash pandas. Something with IR (B&W night pictures) can be got for $125. If you want something that mails the pictures to your phone costs more plus the monthly service charge.

    I didn't. I cheaped out since I was a little tight at that point and went with a bluff. Bought one of those security cameras in use stickers, but no actual cameras.

    Oh, and this mat on the side door:

    @08TRDOFFROAD Ahh, cool.

    Daniel, I would look very hard at the Arlo systems. I have the Pro 2 and it is fantastic. If you can hard wire the possibilities are endless. I couldn't and didn't want to and my shit is hooked up! 5 cams, notifications over cellular, live vid and audible monitoring, I can talk to the crooks. They have an Ultimate now that is even better. My batts in full sun last like 3 months.

    What else?
