Well luckily (or unluckily, really) the welder was turned down super low for the thin metal. No breaker tripping, but the “unlucky” part is I have to weld sheet metal. It sucks.

Yeah true, that was pretty rough. The position I had to lay in for that was awkward.

That's what I have. Even with the 315s your top speed will be about 70 at 3k rpm on the highway. I only went 4.88 to keep my options open up to 37s. 4.56 would've been a more daily driver friendly choice.

Maybe, I have some .023 but I don’t want to bother getting tips and swapping out the roll. Really what makes it so hard is it’s hard getting the firewall metal clean enough to weld. This leads to frustration. But it’s ok, I’ll power through and never deal with it again.

I wear a fire resistant welding beanie in an attempt to avoid being on fire.

Yeah, like half of it burned away on one side, and then my buddy inprovised and used his big gulp of dr pepper to put me out.

So imagine walking into a 7-11 to get a 3am snack before bed missing half a beard, sticky, smelling like 13 flavors, and all that grit and grease run down my face like a girl that just got done ugly cryin.

It was a sight, let me tell ya

Yeah we are suing pelican. Had several of the containers break with hundreds of thousands of $$ in compressor blades in them. They have them on lockdown now. I'm hopeing they are going to tell me to junk the ones with minor damage.

When I was on 34s the 4.88 was very over geared. I cant even imagine stock tires.

So if you were to stay at 35s you'd go with 4 56? I wont go past 35s and getting ready to locker up and regear.

It depends on the person and their use for the truck. I’m super happy with 4.88 and 35s right now because it’s not my daily driver. On the highway, I can’t go faster than 70/71 but I’m ok with that. If you do any amount of high driving regularly then I would go with 4.56 (only if you’re an manual too). If you’re an auto then go with 4.88. The two trannies are geared differently.

Oh that's right you got a manual. In research mode, so I am trying to query folks more experienced than me. I got an automatic and it is my daily driver. So 4.88 is still what I am leaning towards, at least at this early point in my research. Haven't even called ECGS yet.

Only two pics I grabbed today. She’s almost done! All that’s left is flex seal, and then put her back together. Aka battery, interior, grease all the suspension components, etc. Should be all buttoned up tomorrow.
