I promise that will get better with time Rob. After I hit that deer, for about six months even the slightest bit of movement or debris such as fallen leaves blowing across the road in front of me would send me into a panic and make my heart skip a beat and make me jump. it has been more than 3 years and I still do my damndest to avoid driving areas I know I might encounter wildlife in the dark, because I still turn into a nervous mess, but I am able to do it when necessary. I even had similar issues after I was rear ended. Would always stare people down in the mirror, and when one looked even remotely close to not stopping I would have a similar reaction as i mentioned above. Not much you can do about stupid drivers though. They are everywhere! I just had to tell myself as long as I am not permanently injured, vehicles can be replaced and it is the reason we pay our insurance premiums every month.

Randy did you do the hood pins yet? Don’t check up on here much anymore. If or when you do tag me or text me. My passenger seems to be getting even worse as I look at it now.

I haven’t yet, I’ll text you. What did help was lubing my hood hinges. They were stiff and this had kept the hood from dropping all the way flat, making the gap worse. Little WD40 in there and it’s smooth. Still going to add the pins, just been busy

Good call. Noticed that too but thought the redline hood struts we’re getting old and restricting the hood movement. Thanx

Thanks Daniel. This has definitely been a very trying time for the wife and I. We've been through a lot in the last 36 years but this has been the absolute worst.

    Funny you should ask Daniel.

I wish I had good news about my hand but yesterday was a major setback. The truck has been on hold since the accident while the state police did their investigation (something fell through some cracks). But they finally called yesterday and said the hold was off and could go get my personal belongings out. I was under the gun and only had like 20 minutes before the lot closed. It was all going good until I tried to take the gas cap holder off. I overdid it and felt something pop. I thought I might have busted the incision open but I didn't see any blood coming through the bandage, so it must be internal. I hope I didn't pull the screws out. I took some pain pills last night but today it is still really hurting bad. I see my doctor this Friday so I will have them do some xrays to be sure.

The truck is a lot worse than I remembered. One day I will share the photos. I suppose on the good side, now the insurance company can get out there to do their darn job. I definitely need to put this behind me and move on.

OH DANG, Rob! That's some crappy luck! Hopefully it is nothing too major and resting it some will turn things around!

That is odd they wouldn't even let you clean out your belonging! Hopefully insurance will treat you fair...if you don't like their first offer (or it isn't fair), do hesitate to tell them to pound sand. When my sister totaled her van, the insurance low balled her the first go around. Refusing their first offer put a significant amount more money in her pocket towards a replacement vehicle the second go around. Most insurance companies have some leeway to increase the payout a certain amount (Utah is $500 over the "determined value"), otherwise if you aren't satisfied with the number, you have to take them to arbitration or a similar process to have an unbiased third party determine value of the vehicle (and this could be a gamble).

Once you get settled up with the insurance and can replace the Taco, I hope things will get easier for you with it all in the rear view mirror.

Yea, they are still trying to establish her insurance. What she had listed came back negative. Luckily I have uninsured motorists coverage.

But you're right, I just want it all in my rearview.

Last second of the vid he is helping him down the embankment. It sounds like the guy asks "what happened". I sure hope it was just the driver in there.
