I was thinking of throwing a “fuck” in there

very very boring. I would outline the hole with a series of tack welds. That would thicken it up a bit. Then I could tack onto the tacks with ease until the hole was shut. Each one took about 4 min and there’s 9 per side.

 

Inventive.

 

It’s too late, I can never know. I’ll kick myself if there was a better way that would’ve saved me time. A collective 2ish hours of tack welding all 4 corners.

 

Tell me. I may need this knowledge in the future.

Nope when you get ready to weld up a bunch of holes just let me know

 

I bet its brass. They actually make tool kits to back holes for filling. The brass doesn't adhere to the weld.

 

Nor does copper.

 

That thought had crossed my mind but I didn’t have any handy so I just went for it. Once you’re in a rhythm it’s not too bad

 

Just dont look at the backside of those welds.

 

OK so if you have to do it again..... either back the hole with brass or what we liked was a piece of copper pipe about a foot long, mash half of it flat in a vice, it can be bent to fit the contour and you can use the round part as a handle easy peazy weld your hole up

I felt the backside with my gloved hand. Not pretty.

unrelated, I’m changing my lower shock mounts in the rear to allow more up travel, as well as changing my bumps. I’m going to have to trim my fenders finally. Going to take an inch off the bumper wings too, figure now is the time while it’s off the truck and raw.
