    @svdude your ideas on half door got me thinking. I went out and checked, and it looks like I'll be able to reuse factory door panel, trimmed obviously. I made the lower portion of the cut flush with the arm rest. Then I'll make some padding like you mentioned, and use it to span the gap between door and panel. Then mount the interior door handle where the window controls used to me.

    My mind's racing with ideas now and I think I'll be able to pull this off. Going to mess around with it after work and see if I can make it become a reality.
