I think amber/selective yellow is clutch for actual fog/inclement weather needs...so having at least 2 flood or combo driving type lights wired separate would be useful when you need that specific light on trail (or do an SAE for on road...which seems less of the point/main use or need).

I have no personal experience with BD (yet), nor lighting in that location, but would think white centering spots and wide cornering/combo on the outer edges would collectively provide more than sufficient distances lighting while still having ample coverage within the closer and wider areas.

Thanks all for your input. Occasionally on Amazon and eBay, BD lights will be priced low for some reason and once you buy it, the price shoots back up to full price. It's how I purchased my my 40" bar as well as the 20" onx6 I had.

I bought clear spot because it was down to $150 a pair, when full price is about $210. Spot won't be the most useful that low, but with BD, the lenses can be changed around as needed so I'll do that later.

Three switches. One switch for the top row white (outboard are flood, inboard are spot), then another switch for the two lower amber fogs, hopefully dual beam, then the third switch would be the money switch that turns everything on.

Nice drawing! I ended up getting six white spot because Amazon had them priced pretty low. I can change lenses later if necessary. And for now, I'm not adding fog lights to the bumper. I want to be more like @FadedComa

Don't hate the player, hate the game :fistbump:

Besides, Randall has a lot on his mind and really benefits from visuals more than all that technical gobble-de-goo. I was going to hand draw it but I prefer to leave that up to experts like @Justanotherhemi @Comatose and @FadedComa . These guys are the true artists of the village.

Yea, if you can snap lens caps on and off then that seems easy enough. You don't get a lot of fog where you go anyway. Even up here when it's thicker than usual my fogs help out. The key aspect is getting them low enough and that's really impossible for you now anyway.

$25 and a few screws/bolts and you have a new light pattern. I would've done two of each color in either driving or flood. I don't really dig the amber. For some reason it makes it very hard for me to see. But I know you like the ambers. The driving spread is really nice up front and side to side.

Based on a lot of asking around at the offroad races I help staff: Amber down low, maybe 4 amber and 2 white if you want a little extra night time bump, but the yellows for inclement weather cant be beat.

I'd set them on separate switches. Often times when you need the yellows, you don't want the whites, such as fog, drizzle, etc.

Yeah that was part of my discussion with other dave. With the truck parked I think amber looks killer, and it is nice in inclement weather, but I prefer white light for general lighting.

But I also have the top bar for my white lighting. I was about to buy all amber wide cornering when I checked Amazon and found that deal, so white spot it is lol

I concur. A new lens is about $10, so I'll buy those whenever the time comes. I guess it'll depend just how useless the spot is that low. That'll dictate how fast I swap out lenses.

Switching subjects: I think I figured out my radio issue. And it's a case of me being ignorant. I think the problem is the fact that I coiled up the excess antenna wire and hid it under the carpet. Apparently, coiling antenna wire is a big no-no. I'm waiting for some crimpable PL-259 ends to arrive and then I'll know. I hope it's that simple.

Yeah. I've also heard though to run it in increments of 9' so I'm unsure if shortening it will impact that. We need @Comatose in here.

Radio setup, esp ham, is 60% science and 40% pure witchcraft. The miniscule little things that can throw stuff haywire is unbelieveable.
