    VA technically wouldn't allow it...upload_2020-7-7_9-59-2.jpg

EDIT: Now that said/shown, I see folks with black gaffers tape on LED bars and ditch lights that have been passed even last month.

@Justanotherhemi @FadedComa @pabstsmeared Talipia Dressing made of aluminum foil will not be allowed for light coverings?! What kind of bullshit is that?

There might be more to it than that (or that's new). They're supposed to turn off when the high beams are on (or they used to have to). If they're covered they don't even bother to look at them. The inspector even made a comment about it after one of mine recently. Of course, except for the last part, I could be wrong on all counts. I just get tired of arguing with them. And I'm already planning on an argument about my exhaust.

Exhaust re: emissions stuff or did you chop at the rear axle?

Also, if your ditch lights are wired to a separate switch then they won't be on when you flick on your headlights, nor go between hi and low beams...I know covers are the safest bet, but if you remove the switch they can't even turn it on...aux lights without a means to turn on aren't inspected, which is (depending on how you've got shit wired/switched) a $0 temporary mod.

Also covers take rock hits WAY better than the pod lenses!!!!! I know ditch lights are coming for me, and going with a tried and true wide cornering BD setup means black covers are likely readily available...

Now that I've :deadhorse:...how bout this weather!

It's chopped. It's legal and it will pass inspection. It's just past the rear axle. But my luck, I'll get some power-hungry inspector that is looking to fail somebody in any way possible. At the very least it'll all be fun. I like fun.

I'm digging the weather. Weather is fun. We should get some more weather.

    The weather is summer.

I chopped mine at the end of last year just past the axle (had to fact check before hand, just CYA) and had the inspection done in May at the stealership and not a peep.

It's the luck of the shop, inspector and like you said possible power trips.

So if I grab the tip of the main hoop on the bumper, it gave me enough leverage to flex the bumper a tiny bit. If I can do that by hand, I’m sure a winch can do worse. I think it’s because the main Mounting plate is only 4” tall so it can twist a little bit. So, I added tabs that reach under and bolt on. I also added these tubes to provide more support to the main body of the bumper. I realized the other day they had no support since it was only the welds up front holding the whole thing up. I didn’t want it vibrating while driving down the road and causing undue stress on the welds. They serve double duty so now I can toss a soft shackle on there and don’t need to worry about it sliding around.

So you are a tall guy. 6’0 or so. You buy an AC with a long bed to sleep in it. Recently you bob the & take a foot of real estate off. So one of two things are happening.

    1) you are shrinking

    of

    2) you plan on sleeping with the tailgate open
