Well it was the closest and only shop open...so paid for a lifetime alignment considering I knew they wouldn't get it dialed in, at least when I wasn't there...

Balch Alignment is still on my call list, and since I did the install on the weekend they weren't open, as they're a M-F 8-5 operation.


I got a new appointment with the master mechanic tomorrow at 2:30

Assuming my dog doesn't die, and they don't get the alignment dialed in... @TaKoToy I'll likely head out of work early and go drop it off at Balch Thursday.

 

How many alignments you gettin'?

 

If you have one at home, buy two of these and keep one in the truck and one at work.

Paperclips work too. Remember, electricity is only dangerous until you let all the smoke out.

 

Firestone is cheap but just make sure you talk to them about setting the specs you want. When I inquired they told me they would only use OEM specs. I went with another place, a custom shop and they even pushed back but did it anyway. I pissed them off so they took like 4 or 5 hours to do it. Next time I am going to drive all the way down to the shop Randejo uses, well, used.

 

As many as it takes, Firestone will likely loose money or end my lifetime alignment work...ok I kid.

Hoping they dial it in...but I also think my Elkas came setup differently than advertised, my front hub center to fender well is 23/23.25 driver/passenger...they're supposed to be set to 2.5in higher than stock. My recollection is 22in is stock.

So who knows how many...I figured I'd get my money's worth and if I end up changing preload, I'll just take time off work to go to TakoToy-Rob's recommended shop outside RVA (again didn't ignore your experience with them)...just didn't want to drive the non-ac car, especially since I got stuck in dead standstill from an interstate accident yesterday in 107 heat index...not high on my post-work to-do list!

 

21" hub to fender is stock on the 3rd gens.

I'm running 23" exactly on mine.

 

I was just messing with you. Actually forestone should be able to get it right if your not dealing with rubbing as well.

 

Got driver rubs... plus still camber issues, and no alignment sheet makes me think they didn't have the truck on a machine for specs.
