I don't remember if I shared it on TW, but I got a letter from the HOA this weekend about my lawn being too long.

Even with the lawn service? Jesus. I'm so glad I'll never deal with an HOA.

 

That top slant on the mounts could be used to store something else. There room for a quick fist or two.

 

Yeah. My lawn gets mowed every Wednesday around noon. Well they came that morning apparently to check out properties, right when the lawn was at it's longest. And it was pretty shaggy between all the rain and the fertilizer treatments it's been getting, but come the fuck on.

A pic of the lawn the morning of inspection. Yeah it's long but it's not ungodly long. I told them off politely in an email.

 

That's a good idea. I'll have to brainstorm something. Or even something could be stored behind the mounts, like a long pole of sorts.

 

yeah, I still like Randy's design though. Gives more room to work with. I'd bring it a little closer to the bedside, IMO, but not by much.

 

That was my original goal but getting the angle right was difficult. I later realized that was a benefit because now I have room to totally remove the topper if I want.

 

It's been raining so fucking much of course it's tall. Ridiculous

 

I told my landlords as well because I wasn't sure if they received the letter, and they were on my side. So that's good at least. I'm not paying to get my lawn mowed more than once a week, and goddammit I'm not going to mow it myself either just to make some HOA fucks happy.

 

I can't imagine being the landlord of an HOA property. Imagine you have a shitty tenant and have to deal with an HOA on top of that? Pshh. No thanks.

If I ever have a rental property, I'm paying a company to manage it. I don't want to deal with the headaches of being a landlord. For every good tenant, there are 99 shitty ones.

 

When I moved to WV, I rented my house in Richmond to an old guy for like 4 years? Best tenant in the world, and still not fuckin' worth it. Sure, let me just take 2 days vacation and drive 5 hours, one way, to replace a well pump.

 

As I read this back to myself, I can see that I have a problem letting other people do things. That was a real example I gave. I 100% should have called a plumber to replace the well pump. But I didn't.

 

I wasn't going to say anything but you're 100% right. Between your time, gas and vacation days you probably didn't save much.

My well pump was installed in 1988...I just replaced the pressure tank a few weekends ago...do you wanna come replace my pump when it inevitably goes out?
