So I found a used RTT I want up in MD. I have someone coming over Friday to check out the softopper and see if he wants it. If he buys it, I'll use that money to go grab the RTT.

As far as bed bars, I may do something a bit exciting. I'm thinking normal bed bars, but then have them run down into the bed too to tie into the bed bolts similar to the bamf bed rack. That way there's minimal stress on my bedsides. Plus, then I could cut a couple of holes in my bedsides and build some 'sliders' like this. It would be nice since I seem to always hit my bedsides against trees.

I gotta make it happen, I think it'd be pretty trick. And since I'm not going to be camping for awhile, I'll have all winter to get it dialed in and chip away at it.

I'm sitting here like "man I hope I can make this work and keep my spare where it is. Maybe I should build a swingout." Then I yell at myself "NO, BAD RANDY".

If I do anything I will likely replace the tailgate with a tire carrier type deal. That way I can suck the weight in a bit and remove the weight of the tailgate.

Smart. Then you'll have plenty of room for the traction boards on the hood.

Which one do you guys like more? I’m leaning towards the first one. Keeps the weight inboard a little more as opposed to the second one. Plus it looks slick.
