It was a very good imitation. Looked exactly like a trophy swinging around the pavement.

As a non expert fox 2.5 owner i will say a lot of later 2.5s have some cheap parts like plastic ifps, etc. Also support from fox is basically non existent, even for vendors. Or at least it was a year or so ago.

Let’s get this re-relocate party started.

I’m doing this for a few reasons. The archive gets the upper mount higher and thus the lower mount higher too. This means more ground clearance at the axle. I also think the archive kit is just nicer overall and a bit more refined.

This also gives me an opportunity to fix some minor issues. My lower mounts were set ever so slightly off from one another. The eye to eye distance was 3/8” off side to side meaning I had about 1/2” exposed shaft extra on one side. Now that I have a nice level garage it’ll be easy to get it perfectly perfect. The upper mount was also welded together incorrectly (by me). The spacing for the upper mount was a little off so I had to use a weird combo of misalignment spacers to get it right.

Once I cut it off I also noticed that it was rubbing into the bed.

Oh yuck. A little crack or deep scratch on the side of that and your reservoir shock becomes an emulsion shock. No thanks

Should be a standard offering though. Is the IFP plastic in their fancy new dual adjust shocks?

Did you upgrade it upon upon original purchase or during a rebuild?

Mine are the factory series 2.5 dsc (dual adjusters) and they had them - figured that out when doing a rebuild. I reached out to accutune to see if they offered a better ifp and they said that was pretty common for the newer foxes.

Edit: it also makes them a pain to bleed the resi's because the plastic ifps arent threaded.

that’s crazy. Interesting way to cut costs, but in reality 90% of the folks that get OEM fit shocks will probably never see the inside of them.

    Post to your edit..

that really sucks! Not only is it hard to bleed properly, but you can’t pull the IFP back to get a little shock oil in the reservoir. It’s bottomed out or nothing. Being able to pull the IFP with a standard 1/4”x20 all thread rod is pretty nice.

One set of lightly used relocates. Like new, only welded onto truck for 5 miles. No lowballers, I know what I have.

If you powerwash those and touch em up with a rattle can, you may actually get some bites.
