Yeah I agree, loctite is sketchy for any bolt that may need a retorque. Torque is already a mediocre way to measure the clamping force of a bolt, and loctite makes torque even less reliable in that respect

It was driving me crazy trying to update it. Would move like 1% every 30 seconds. Then I get home on wifi and it takes all of 5 min to complete.

Just figured it'd been a while since the last Firestone lifetime alignment distraction!

I should've taken pictures of the massive rub and trimming that followed...I'll be working to reverse the under 4 degree caster (and will more than likely throw camber waaaaaay off in the process)!!

Did you tell them what Caster #'s you were shooting for? If you don't they will try to fight it to 0.

Oh yeah, he got the driver side down to 4.2 and came to chat with me, agreed bringing passenger up as close to 4 degrees.

Pretty sure I can make lemonade out of this tomorrow, time will tell! Might be cutting and pounding back pinch welds ahead of schedule:eek:!

Takes maybe 30 minutes, most of which is pulling off the tires and the fender liners. Though, careful pulling the liners if you want to put them back on after..... :anonymous:
I got a mini sledge, a rubber bath mat and a 12 roll pack of electrical tape at Lowes and created my heavy rubber hammer to smash it outward without damaging the paint.

Yeah sounds like tool improvising fun!!

I did get a great visual from the main VA thread Screenshot_20210304-161252_DuckDuckGo.jpg

And the liner salvaging comment doesn't help... let's see if I can just get the tire off the pinch weld this afternoon!

The consensus is to bend the pinch weld out rather than in like that picture. I smashed mine in, then found more rubbing on my firewall/pinch weld with 295s. Which meant I had to take the BFH to it again. And smashing the bent inward pinch weld was hard. And had little give.

Unless you are going balls to the wall up a waterfall breaking & twisting shit, you and I are not in the same league. BTW even Randall's garage traction boards couldn’t help you.

    Plot twist: No offense <3

Bend it outward in one piece, just work your way back and forth along the entire length with the hammer. Prevents need for any cutting which can lead to leaks later on. Some people coat with sealant afterwards for peace of mind.

Ended up taking it into a spring and alignment shop. 20210312_155117.jpg

It's tracking true, just hitting on reversing full lock to left, but hoping the pinch weld tips will alleviate that.
