Had a productive day cycling my suspension. I removed the coil from the coil over as well as my bump stops, and shoved the tire up into the wheel well until the upper uniball maxed out. That’s worst-case scenario and I shouldn’t ever hit that in real world situations and I completely clear lock to lock. I only needed to do a little bit of trimming up front. I also spaced my bump stops down to protect the upper uniball from maxing out.

So I finally unwrapped Betty's OG gussetted spindles and though I didn't capture a photo of how I first saw it, but this was far more than I saw poking throught the wrapping. 20210709_174654~2.jpg
I was like, I'll be damned if he didn't plurble the set...then I opened the wrapping and was upset and yet relieved!!!
    20210709_174751.jpg

Now I'm like...come on man no media blast prep for a fresh coat of bed liner in a can?!?!

That’s when I fixed the crack and all I had on hand was blurple! I figured you’d be repainting then anyways, they need it.

Did you ultimately buy a spring compressor? Or are you using a #RandyFab method?

Yeah, I got after it with my FiLs power sander followed up by rattlecan primer action and rattlecan bedliner in his now A/C flowing garage!

    20210710_135615.jpg
Just for the throwback to SoCal Randy, used it to dry them ahead of priming...notice the IN-N-OUT sky blue and those last rements of blurple kinda match, ha!

So I ended up grinding off the bedliner spray paint on the hub/spindle sealing face as we were pressing in the axle seal thingamajig into the spindles it irked my neighbor that they were coated. So here's my shitty attempts of showing my shiny spindle hub area as vs the spraypaint bed liner I coated Betty's ol' thangs with. 20210711_162746.jpg 20210711_134346.jpg

So I got them back on the table and took the grinder to them.20210711_151543.jpg

All good, then it was on to the pinch welds and then drivers coilover preload and spindle swap.

Edit: aka expect them freshies via UPS this week!

These things have been collecting dust on my shelves for a few years. Like a lot of the stuff I did recently on my truck.

All is right with the world finally.

I just about finished buttoning up the truck. I had a few items to take care of.

    • More trimming, to include fender and bumper.
    • Space bump stops down by 1/2”
    • Adjust coilover height
    • Fix deez stickers

Doesn't sound like a lot on on paper but it took me a couple of days. All I have left is

    • replace banjo bolt on brake line (waiting in mail)
    • Adjust ride height until I get it right where I want it
    • Alignment

And to think this all started with Jaime @Justanotherhemi suggesting some red paint here and there.

Very happy with the new ride height. No idea how much I brought it up or what the lift is over stock. I just know the rear is lifted 1.5”
