Interested to hear how it does off-road. Looking good though man. I got the rxt’s on last night. Put them on at option 1 and it’s incredible how much of a different ride it is. Reviews on these don’t even do them justice compared to the Dakar’s.

Oh yeah. The Dakar’s weren’t in too bad of shape either compared to some that I have seen.

I know it’s going to settle some too but interested to see how it will ride with the soft topper and recovery/camp gear.

Thanks again for the info. Glad I threw them on at Option 1

The quality of this kit is just fantastic. I started getting it prepped for the install in the morning.

Ooooo doggy. Install and test drive only took about 3 hours, everything went smoothly.

@EatSleepTacos since this thread is about trucks again… Imma go out on a limb and ask a truck question.

I had 295/75r16 on 3.5bs wheels (similarish to what you used to have I think) and when wheeling hard I found rubbing on my inner fenders and firewall, so I used the gentle touch of a BFH.

My question is, how does the 2.25 JD LT change the scrub and interaction with the firewall/inner fender? If I go LT and 35s, still need to tub? Need to tub more?

I just can’t quite visualize how adding long travel to the mix changes what would need to be trimmed/hammered/tubbed etc. does the long travel decrease or eliminate the need for tubbing/trimming/hammering for 35s?

Long travel does decrease the amount of trimming to some extent because you’re moving the pivot point outward. With the JD kit it also moves it forward 0.875” which helps keep the tire off of the firewall (but may require some trimming up front). I’m not the best person to ask since I had already tubbed for 35s stock width so I don’t know how much LT actually helped.

Thanks. That’s helpful. Trying to decide the order I do all this. And would prefer not to weaken the front more with tubbing as my core support has numerous cracks already. So maybe I should jump on the inner fender GB first? Save myself some headache and get LT a little later. What are your thoughts on the inner fenders?

I think they’re a very nice product. I would like some but it’s not something I see myself purchasing, only because I have the capability to build a full tube support for the front end. For only a couple hundred bucks and a lot of time.

As far as tubbing, I don’t feel like the amount of tubbing I had to do in the front was detrimental to the strength up there. And any clearance at the firewall wouldn’t be helped by the fenders.

Not to mention you’ll likely need to cut even less up front with LT.

So I opted to purchased Toyota's SafetyConnect which has a few functions, like automatic collision notification of emergency services, enhanced roadside assistance, and stolen vehicle locator. It's $80 a year but because I now have GPS tracking theft recovery, it knocked $20 off of my insurance each year, which was nice. I didn't realize the insurance savings would be that much. Just thought I'd share.

He has to be lifted everywhere pretty much, except our bed. I trained him how to jump up but only when invited. To get him in the truck I lift his front paws up and then lift him up by his back legs.

Ah. I nearly lost my shit when Fancy jumped into the Tacoma. I didn't think she could do it. For some reason she won't jump on the couch, but our bed is fair game.

I'm a have to try your process with her. She's not to keen on me carrying her, but she lets me.

Luckily getting him out of the truck is easy. I just stand off to the side and he jumps out on his own time. If I try and help him out, he's not having it.
