I skipped on this hood & bought a Kobalt premier from lowes. I like it but when I tried my buddies Vulcan it blew the doors off mine. The peripheral vision & clarity was leaps & bounds better than mine.

Unlike you @EatSleepTacos failed me & didn’t recommend that helmet when I was on the market.

Stop it Randall. Stop it right now. Im more of grinder than a welder honestly :anonymous:. My welds are ”cardboard welding table Randy” type of welds. But hey the two parts stick together & I have never had any of my welds break in my garage. Once the work is done the warranty is over.

well you see this is actually my 3rd helmet lol, so I shoulda bought this from the start

I started with the $35 chicago electric poopoo auto darkening. literally can't see squat with it

Then I bought a cheapie $15 hobart fixed shade when my friend and I were working on something so we both could see, and it turned out to be a much better lens that I liked. Then the lens on that got scratched after using it a bunch, and I asked the welding thread for a good helmet to upgrade to. Randy suggested the Vulcan after his good experience

so I proceeded to not follow that guidance and just bought a gold foil lens for the $15 helmet and kept plugging along the fixed shade life

then I decided it was a pain to weld my sliders on with a fixed shade in the cramped space and it also seemed like a "treat yo self" kinda day today and so I bought the vulcan.

Yeah I avoid Randalls advice as much as possible as well. But I gotta hand it to him, he gives good butt nuggets of information every now and then.

Unless our Son Randall has confirmed it is a Firebird, that looks more like a C4 Vette front end to me Hermano. :stirthepot:

I feel like this is backwards because wheeling is the fun part lol. When we’re arriving this afternoon the “feels like” will be 15° and 10 mph winds.

Sounds like you have it wired to the high beam circuit. The fogs/running lights on modern vehicles turn off during high beam use. There's a work around for that though. An "Always On" mod here on the forum somewhere.

A lot of light is overrated anyway.

Meh you know how I feel about wheeling the same parks anymore. Now give me some snow covered new trails or a totally new park then you got me excited. Teens is probably the coldest I've camped and that was before a heater. I think you will be toasty af in that insulated RTT and the mini heater for sure. Rausch should be fun in the snow too, not sure how much they got though. Did you ever end up rebuilding that starter?
