I'm thinking we eventually reach a point where George is helping Randy work on Betty and he is allowed to pick the colors of things. Then we return to normalcy

Alright, so if my beadlock rings become sooooo fucked up that I need to replace them, then I’ll seriously consider bringing back blurple.

That’s her home! For now anyways. Kara is working in Richmond for a month so Betty gets the garage and tundra gets the entire driveway.

There was talk of the diff bracket size/strength a while ago and I stumbled upon comparison pics of the old and new design. Old design was only on 03-04 model years, so shouldn't have bled into Tacomas. Only 4runners and gx470s. Double checked with pics and my 05 4runner has the updated brackets

Seems like the starter wasn’t the only issue. Gonna have to dig into this later.

On the plus side, it was less than a mile from home so no biggy. I walked home and called AAA and then met them back at the truck in the Tundra.

I finally got my civic put back together and Firestone was able to (allegedly since the one by my in-laws garage doesn't print or can't print the alignment specs...) get the alignment job done. Man I wish I had the initial MISALIGNED numbers, it was so outta wack that the car was squealing and whining at turns and over 20mph! The tech even went on the record with the shop manager, stating he didn't feel safe doing an initial test drive with the car it was that bad. FYI, I put on new suspension at all 4 pts, new front control arms and tie rod ends (L&R), rear sway links and bushings, as well the front sway bar bushings, new front rotors and pads...now I am due for new tires and knowing my luck the civic will kick the bucket a few weeks after that's done:bananadead:

Surprised AAA sent a wheel lift truck. When I towed/worked for them they were strict about roll-back only for AWD/4WD.

Well I found the issue and it’ll be an easy fix. The wire running from the battery to the cable is just degraded with age. I’ll replace that and she’ll be good to go.

I put in the notes that I was wide as fuck so they sent that instead of the flatbed.

Ah. There wasn't all that new-fangled tech when I did it. We were still using paper maps. It was amazing when we got in-truck dispatch systems.

This was my first time having to use it in like a decade and it was really easy, all through the app. Where I was, where I was going, etc. They showed up in like 15 minutes.
