Yeah I put the bed back together, returned the cot tent to Amazon and came to my senses. I need to stop tinkering with a setup that just plain works. Gotta stop changing shit just to change shit.

Did a quick 30 minute engine bay wipe down tonight because I was a little bored.

Some diluted simple green, a detailing brush and some rags. Just sprayed the simple green, agitated with the brush and wiped up. Works pretty well!

FYI, the same method works great for cleaning up RC's after a dirty Bash session. Then follow it up with a wipe down with wd40 on all the plastic parts. Makes them look brand new again!

Try Aero303. Lotta guys in the detailing section use it for the engine cover and all things plastic.

Granted you prob have WD40 laying around so gotta do what you gotta do.

It was really cool and definitely a viable solution if I didn’t already have the rtt. But the rtt just works really well and isn’t much of a hindrance off-road. So I returned the cot tent and put my bed back together.

I need to do this, but tend to just say, F-it, it'll be covered in mud and dirt the next time I drive it down the dirt, mud and pot holed road we live off...
