Dang, that looks sweet! Is that what you ended up getting instead of the arrma? Or did you get both?

 

I just learned that larger, aluminum transmission pans are a thing and now I want one for the tundra. It increases fluid capacity by almost a gallon and acts as a heat sink to keep pan temps down. Not terribly expensive either. Whenever I drop the pan to replace the filter I’ll put one of these on.

I figure cooler is always better, to a point. Really not that much money either in comparison to other things.

 

Couple of vendors make a transmission/power steering cooler kit that's plug and play. While the cooling fins on that pan are nice, it's the actual drain plug and elimination of the leak-prone retention dealios. Sucks I just did the service.

 

Adding this to your mix. B&M has been around for ever and had the oversized pans as well. I had one on my 96 tahoe years ago.

Bill have you see their shifters for the JK?

 

Yes.. if… big IF.. I replace my clutch, I might go that route. The reason I say that is, I’m very use to the semi sloppy current shift pattern. Reading some reviews peoples say it’s a very tight shift pattern. Which is a good thing too. I will see when it comes down to it, though.

 

Seriously. I don't jump for joy! I literally jumped up and down for 5 seconds when I did a triple backflip in this thing. Shortly after I cracked the steering servo which is a 30$ upgrade part. Yes it cost $ but the funfactor is there !!!

And this is exactly why I'm resisting buying one. They're worse than a real car.

 

@crashdb Did your Rubi have the factory skids on it? Just wondering if so, because the cross over pipe for the trans hangs low on the auto box JK leading to the cooler. One mod was to cut it high on both sides to remove that section, double ferrule both ends, add hose and clamps to get it up out the way so it wasn’t the hanging low point.

If you could call them that. I just bought an aftermarket exhaust system. Got rid of that crazy loop near the cat, crossover pipe is further back, and that suitcase muffler is no more!

 

Cools. My bad on what I was trying to say.. there is a hard line for the transmission that hangs low between the trans, and engine. That is what I was to say.

I guess I needs to work on my verbiage better.

Only at first...When I switched to 3s in my basher, I was breaking something ever pack. But once I upgraded the things that were breaking, I got very reliable fun out of it. Now the only time I break something is when I send it too hard. I.e. my wheelie bar after I cartwheeled it a dozen times into the curb at nearly full throttle (50ish mph).

 

I must be harder on mine. The last two I got I would break something all the time. One of them barely even resembled the RTR I had bought it had so many hop-ups on it. I may just get this one I found. It's a cheap RTR, and it's a mini. I don't think there are many hop-ups for it, so I won't be able to spend money. And if it dies? No big deal.

Oh sweet innocent summer child. The SCX24 has a HUGE following and there are endless mods you can do to it. Poke around on etsy. I have one and it is a lot of fun though, so if you want something to play around with, that's perfect.
