Doing some bed rearranging. The main thing was getting the powertank down low because I may put a tonneau cover on, plus I think it looks nicer without it peeking up over the bedside. Everything is biased drivers side but the pro eagle and hi lift are probably a combined 100 lbs so that should even it out.

Roof top tent would make that bed look nice.

Would it though??? Or would a tonneau covering everything look nice and not kill my visibility. I lean towards that one.

Are you going to have to bob the tonneau to fit the bed or are you going to debob the bed to fit the tonneau?

That’s the beauty of bobbing down to shortbed size, in theory I can just put a shortbed cover on there.

I’ll have you know that the “drive on the strap” thing worked brilliantly this evening. Tried it for the first time letting someone else try and drive up the ramp.

Wait you have visibility? My spare tire is vertical behind the rear window. :anonymous:

Mine was like that until I realized how much the rear (front?) wall of the bed flexed with the tire strapped to it.

Mine sandwiches my traction boards to the front of the bed. I haven't noticed any flexing though. It's pretty solid. Eventually I'm designing a 60-80% toolbox that'll have a spot to mount the spare vertically behind the driver seat. Designing it to hold up to a 35" tire, double as a bed cage, and some other goodies.

I thought it was solid until I grabbed the top of the tire and it wiggled back and forth a surprising amount. Maybe over time the wall has gained some flex or maybe because it’s such a heavy spare, I dunno. Definitely made me uncomfortable though and why I moved it to the floor.
