A random question I thought of last night, since I'll be swapping the reservoir upstream of the clutch MC, will air need to be bled out? I feel like I could get away without doing so if I just leave the cap off of the reservoir and let the air gradually float out.

im thinking no bleeding would be required, just don’t press the clutch while you’re changing out the reservoir haha. let it sit for a few hours to let the dissolved air rise to the top like you said and I think it’ll be fine.

Cool, I’m glad you share the same sentiment. It made sense in my mind but it’s always good to get another opinion.

I think this was my issue with my brakes. When I swapped my rear lines for the long bois I had spongy brakes for a week because I couldn't get them bled well enough I guess. Went through so much brake fluid. So I thought maybe it was the ABS full of air and I didn't have a good way of bleeding the system so I scheduled an appointment at the stealership. Day of on my way to work they were suddenly fine, so I called and cancelled. Saved myself some money, someone was looking out for me.

It’s somewhere in this thread but I’m entirely too lazy to dig it up.

The swingout was a rectangle, so on the end of the rectangle was just two bolts that it secured to. This was mobtown joes old 4Runner.

I don’t recall, it may have had a plate on the bottom but I’m not sure. Not really necessary either imo, two 1/2” bolts will provide more than enough clamping force to keep it from going anywhere.
