    I might attempt. But id need to do it all with a circular saw. Might even splurge and get a clamp!

    It really is ingenious! The best part is it's all bolt together, so no special tools needed. Although my angle grinder sure does speed things up.

    Making good progress on this platform. Next up is to start cutting the top wood. The goal is to have it juuust narrow enough to be able to take it out if I need to.

    The sad truth...:pout:
    You'll have to get your non resident permit and come on this side of the river to try our bass! You won't regret that!

    Ok now your rig is truly awesome! Might be cooler than Stewie1!
    No as heavy but still! Roof racks are so useful!

    @EatSleepTacos
    Is that the permanent location for your spare tire? If you pack your truck like I do your gonna have to pull a lot of stuff out to get to the spare if needed. Just something I figured I'd contribute before your unloading the entire contents of your bed on the side of the highway.

    It is! The plywood is in two halves, so I can access it fairly easy if needed. I'd just need to unload whatever is on top, but most the times there won't be anything there. This is just temporary until I get a rear bumper with a swingout eventually.

    I want to make some sort of drawer system now except it would have to be sealed off somehow because I have an open bed. Damn you @EatSleepTacos for putting all these ideas into my head. I'm broke enough as it is.

    I carry a lot of stuff in the bed under my soft topper. I can see my self now on the side of the road, people would be stopping trying to buy stuff from the yard sale. I have a 255 75 17 in the factory location I haven't tried to fit a 255 80 yet...

    That'd wouldn't be too hard! You'd have to make sure the wood is sealed really well, then just have some sort of gasket around the face of the drawer.
    That's why I have mine in the bed now. I have a 255/85r16 spare, and I just couldn't fit it under no matter how hard I tried.

    Yeah I would want mine to sit flush over my entire bed like a sleeping platform with a couple large drawers for camping stuff. Just have to figure out the best way to deal the drawers where they will close tight enough.
