Gasgas EX 250. Since KTM owns them it’s basically a red KTM 250 XC.

 

I thought all they made were trials bikes? Or did they start with regular dirt bikes after KTM bought them?

 

I’m not too familiar with their history. I just know that KTM bought them like five or six years ago and they’re just red ktms now.

 

Interesting. They were/are a Spanish company that made bikes for trials competitions. I can't remember if they ever made a typical dirtbike, but trials it where they made their name. Weird purchase for KTM, just to rebadge them. It's not like KTM is unknown. Down the rabbit hole I go.

 

Kinda like husky’s are just blue Kim’s lol. If I rode more I’d look into getting a husky 300exc but as it is I ride my bike like 1 time per year so the old Honda will keep doing just fine vs spending $12k on a new bike

 

Exactly. I'm very fortunate that I have a buddy who rides A LOT and I was able to pick his brain on everything. He's the one that guided me towards this one due to the new KTM and husky two strokes being TBI (first year of new tech) but the new gasgas is still TPI (more proven tech). I might change out the plastics because I don't love red, but it's not a high priority.

 

Beta tries really hard to compete too, they sponsor all the AMA Dual sports.
