Valid. But when gas here is 5.30/gal for regular, a v8 GX is a hard sell. I've had my eye on a 460 for the last few years and the economics can only be defeated by "but I want it".

But when I say Lexus SUV, I’m thinking NX or RX, maybe hybrid. Comfy, quiet, eats up miles, should be decent on gas.

He should name it "Coyote". Fits the desert vibe, and reminds him of the illustrious vehicle he gave up...living next to that his neighbor owned.
