I expect a full MTV cribs production full of ridiculous amenities. Show us the fridge full of BLO and a chilled Franzia fountain in the door; urinal in the garage; air conditioned toilet seat!

Out with the old, in with the new!

Finally did the wheel bearings on Norris! They have been bad for a LONG time....just hasn't been a priority. Norris has 177k on him now and they are still the original bearings. We took the Taco yesterday to an amusement park about an hour north and the bearings were screaming so loud I couldn't even have a conversation with the family in the truck...decided it was time to make it a priority!

It was sketchy af...the drivers side had been getting so hot, it took zero force to remove. I loosened the bolts and it fell off into my hand essentially...definitely a safety issue. I also found my outer CV boots have crapped the bed and puked grease EVERYWHERE, so it made the project a mess. Took me an hour with dawn and a scrubbrush to get my hands clean. Gonna watch the forums here to see if I can snag a set of take offs for a good deal and replace them (my mechanic i took it to a few years ago while not feeling welli used non oem axles) so if you see any let me know!

FWIW my landscape light setup never interfered with the openers and I think they were a cheaper route than the long lights.

My harbor freight lights also didn't interfere with my two Genie openers, despite some people saying they had had issues.

I have some old school 8 ft T12's my father-in-law gave me when he worked for a sign company. When a business would upgrade their signage to LED's he would keep the old fixtures. I have three of them to light my 3 car garage. They don't interfere with the opener at all.

Our new house has a sealed garage floor that the PO never bothered to clean once it seems like. I'm just getting started, but boy oh boy, I want to get this shit so clean I can eat off of it.

Looking good! You need one of those floor buffing machines with the scrub brush attachment! I wish I would have epoxied our garage floors before we moved in when we built our house. Hindsight is is 20/20, right? Live and learn!

I’ve told my wife for YEARS that when we buy a house, the first thing I’m doing is sealing the floor, so this was a nice cherry on top to be already done.

A more sad life update is that we had to put sweet Tony to sleep a few days ago, easily the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through, and am still going through. He was a month shy of 10 years old, and we had him for almost 8 years. Bone cancer is common in greyhounds, and that’s what ended up taking him too. The day after we got the diagnosis, we had an in home euthanasia done. Rest easy, sweet prince.

Dude. That sucks. We went through the same crap with our last greyhound. Hardest thing ever. It just comes on so suddenly.

Hopefully, Tony is doing zoomies with all the other greyhounds.

It was fast, it was nuts. Start to finish was a few weeks. He started slowly favoring his front left leg, and after a week we went to the vet. They did x rays and blood work but didn’t find anything and recommended crate rest and pain meds. They tried to x ray his upper part of his leg but he was in too much pain so they opted for the rest route and no improvement would be a neuro referral. Went to neuro 13 days later and they sedated him to get upper leg x rays and it was very clear what it was. Next morning he passed peacefully in our home with my wife and I by his side.

We didn’t want to put him or us through amputation or chemo or anything like that, too expensive and stressful for all of us.

We came to the same conclusion. The bone cancer in these dogs seems to be super aggressive. We were worried he'd hurt himself while we were at work and he'd have to suffer. Hardest decision ever, as I'm sure you know.

It'll get better. You'll always miss him, though.

I was super fortunate in that regard, that I work from home so I was able to stay with him 24/7, but that poor guy was in so much pain. The last few days he had trouble going from standing to laying and would scream in pain, it absolutely broke my heart.

That's rough, man. My condolences. My dog had a similar end to his story, but with lymphoma. Took him out in a week. I guess the silver lining is it was a clear choice, vs my good friend's dog that "was just getting old and having a hard time".

I said the same exact thing to my wife. He made it easy on us by making it as cut and dry as it could possibly be, vs a slow deterioration.
