    That's almost how far I had to get to this one, since traffic was so bad. It was the only one that worked for me though since I wanted my license in time for the mobtown event.

    That's true. I'm not really in a rush to get it and cb should suffice with the low key trips I'll be going on in the fall. It'll give me more time to study and save some money for a decent ham setup for the truck. How are you going to set yours up in the truck?

    I'm gonna get the $30 handheld, then mount an NMO antenna on the roof, drilling the hole and everything. Then when I get a more permanent radio solution, I can use the same antenna.

    20$ aint bad so I would just buy one. but generally I borrow tools if I can, if I borrow it twice, then the 3rd time I go buy one for myself.
