@EatSleepTacos , I just installed my hd cb antenna spring, says in the description it is good to 102" whip, but it feel kinda soft with the 5' firestick on it. Did you experience that when you had your? I just don't want it to bend 45* at highway speed lol I already have a spring that is doing that, don't need a 2nd one haha

It was definitely bendy, but I don't think there's any avoiding that. The 5' antenna is just sooo heavy with so much leverage.

I'm rocking the whip style now but I def got that beefier spring that you recommended.

Damn, I saw the one you have now in the vid and it seems to be so stiff! Hope the new one will bend less than the little one I had lol if not, it is going to stay like this lol!

I would like to bend mine like you but the shell makes it impossible...

I bet you could attach a metal piece from your bed rail that might slip underneath the shell to hold it whip style like mine?

My mod for today. This is a precious gem 2 times over. Not only is it the official flag of TW ambassador to the world but it was also a gift from @EatSleepTacos .

@Coot83 you are not the only one fortunate enough to have the @ChadsPride looking over you

Like bending it inside the shell? It would make it useless eh?

I could tie it to the roof bars but again, the corner of the shell makes the bending really short...

What's wrong with it being up like an antenna supposed to be?

I want it up, thats the matter with the spring, didn't tried the new one yet but I am looking for a way to avoid ridiculus bending on highway speed like I had with my smaller spring. But if it does bend a lot with the new sping it is going to stay like this because I need it to save the antenna from branches and other obstacles

Maybe just roll without a spring? I don't use one.

I was, but the antenna is kinda stiff and I don't really like how much force it does apply to the mount at the base of it, I don't want to snap the antenna. I also went on a forestry road 2 weeks ago and the antenna was balancing a lot from left to right... the spring would help to avoid breaking it

edit: OP, Sorry for thread jack :(

I'm about to!!! I don't want to jinx myself yet.

That thing is utterly horrifying. Was that intentional?

Morning everyone! Gonna swing by the camper shell store today and hope they have some Tacoma mounts in stock! The owner of the shell said he just used some self tapping screws to mount it onto his truck....
