    Correct you are. On both points.


    That block was the first Darton Sleeved M.I.D. block. My first built block, which had cylinder scoring was the donor for the sleeves to be created. Gadget had Darton do the work. Then APR do the build. That had "technical difficulties" and DoubllD bought it. Then we all know the rest.

    Anybody here run after market oil filters? Almost 1k over my oil change light and need to change it early in the morning before I roll out to a meet. Don't have any access to a OEM filter and the only place I can take it to get it changed is Walmart and I'm not thrilled about that option.

    I did my first oil change using a Fram from WalMart. It did the job for the 3 months it was on there. Went right back to oem after that. If ever in a pinch I would run it again.

    I saw a write up on how to change it and I think it'll be as easy as the write up says it is. Making the switch to synthetic to see how my truck does! Hoping I never have to pay someone to do it ever again!

    It is super duper easy.

    • Drain oil
    • Replace filter ( I like to put some new oil on the gasket of the new filter to lube it up)
    • Replace oil drain plug and crush washer
    • Refill with oil
    If for some reason you can't get your old filter off, Take a large flat head screw driver and shove it into the old filter, and use that as leverage to turn it off. I've had to do this twice now.
