Do you have to retune very often with switching or do the tunes stay? I bought a 4ft and first time out lost the cap, bought more caps and a 3ft and plan on switching as needed. Just curious if the tune will be off with switching or if it will stay good.

I remember reading somewhere that it actually truly fixes the taco lean as well. A few have done it and no more lean.

My guess is you'd need to tune each antenna, but once it's tuned, you wouldn't need to mess with it as long as no other variables are changed.
Thanks Chad! Hope your like button is ready for all the pics.

I have some clamps made for the toyota/tundra. I got them from a local cap store.

:bananadance: Have fun guys!! We are leaving tomorrow morning for the last hunting week end with the crossbow. Rare time I can't wait for my alarm to ring in the morning!

I got it the first time... EST might already be camping in his head:rofl:

Thanks...I already ordered new caps just trying to figure out how to keep the tree limbs and brush from stealing them. Thought about glue but then I wont be able to tune, thought about tape like EST did on the Bald Mnt trip but I dont want to deal with all the sticky crap afterwards. Oh...I just thought of something while I was typing this in. Wonder if a zip tie pulled really tight would work!

Do you have a spring at the base to ease pressure when you hit a limb or something? You must have a weird cap. The one on my firestik takes everything I have to come off.

Zip tie could help, or maybe just a bead of hot glue around the cap when you are done tuning? Easy to take off with you nails but should be good to hold against trees

Having a spring like @BravesTaco95 said also help a lot! Didn't lost mine yet but haven't been in a lot of narrow trails this year yet

yea I have the spring... the 4ft is skinnier than the 3ft and the cap goes on and off pretty easy. the 3ft one is larger and comes off a lot harder

@Kemosabe @EatSleepTacos just grabbed some 16 gauge wire I had from my ditch lights and this brought it down to a 1.6-1.8 range. Not perfect but it’ll be fine for my use. Thanks for the help guys!

Also moved it to the back of the bed and I think that may have helped a little. Now I’ve either got to turn my tent to fold out the passenger side or get a quick disconnect.
