Shit yeah they are. I'm only going this route since I already have a battery I use in my cordless impact wrench.
Working at work? What does that mean?!

Based on what I read, you can get a decent amount with the 20v battery I've got. Literally the only thing I want this for is for getting small trees out of the way on the trail, so this should handle that fine.

Thats cool! I like battery tools! For cleaning a trail it should be good enough, keep the chain sharp so you don't waste power trying to cut like if it was a butter knife lol

Agreed! It'll be nice not having to worry about having gas or dealing with starting it. @Subway4X4 is the one I got the idea from.

The Dewalt 20v Brushless that you linked is perfect for a trail chainsaw. With a sharp chain, it will beat ANY trail axe or hatchet hands down.

I just got a Dewalt 60v a couple weeks ago to replace my gas as a trail chainsaw. The 18" Echo gas saw was too heavy and too bulky for the limited space I have in my truck. Plus I don't have to deal with the 50:1 fuel storage in the truck. Anything to reduce flammables in a trail vehicle is always a plus. I chose the 60v because I already have the batteries and that I could still use it on my property. about 1 acre, most of it trees. At least 1 tree per year will fall.

I've cut one 2" diam "tree" and one tree root to get myself out of a very stuck situation in my entire wheeling life. But have had to cut others peeps out several times. This past weekend was no exception. I popped the cherry of my new saw on Sunday.

Also I have never cut a tree just to clear a path for a truck. It has to be REALLY stuck and no other viable option in order for me to cut something.

Lastly, WAIT for a Black Friday deal.

I've had my 18" Echo for almost 10 years. Love it. Starts on one pull 90% of the time. 2 pulls 10% of the time (usually in cold ass weather.)

The Echo brand is the "Toyota" of chainsaws. Mine is made in Japan.

Might sell it later on, after my initial assessment of my new Dewalt.

Morning all! I am currently doing my least favorite thing...sitting at the dealership waiting for them to finish the emissions testing on my wife's Camry. (The only reason I bring it here is because it is free as part of the deal having purchased it as a certified used.)

no emission test here unless you drive a shit box and the police stop you and ask you for one haha or if you leave a vehicule stored more than a year without paying the plates, or if you buy from another province or country.

And I thought the 30 I have to pay for the testing on my truck is bad. Although it did cost me $175 total to test and register it this year.
