i know. it kills me. I love all their lights, and i rock 12 of these as rock lights on my fj40 but still, for the cost they should be bright.

Wow, that looks good! Did you end up using those magnets to mount the KC lights?

RTTs are aluminum framed, so magnets are a no go. I made some brackets.

If you go that route for size and mounting simplicity, I would go with the Max over the Monster. But the other lights in this thread are quiet a bit better in output.

@crashnburn80 another awesome writeup, I have 2 KC Cyclone lights under my hood and want to add 4 as courtesy lights. Did you consider including the Infinite Offroad shadow reaper rock light in your test?

I did not, I am not familiar with them. The only one considered but not included was the 9w rock lights by Vision X, which were not available and had a crazy long backorder timeline.

Realistically there are far too many brands to review them all, so I focused on some major name brands and those brands popular on the forum for the comparison.

Did anyone get this code from Taylor? I am wanting to order 4 cyclones ASAP straight from KC and messaged him last Friday buy haven't heard back yet.

Thanks for this thread @Chrashnburn80 . Some great info here, as I was in the market for rock lights.

@Taylor@KC HiLiTES is usually reasonably responsive, may have just been out on a trail run over the weekend or a few days of vacation.

Does anybody happen to have pictures of all of the different colors side by side?
I can't seem to find one on the google.

I also need the code if anybody gets it.
    Thanks!

All side by side seems unlikely unless @Taylor@KC HiLiTES had something. Are you intending for actual rock light use on the trail? Is so I’d suggest the white or amber (yellow) versions for best visibility.

    Scene/Camping actually.

I mostly wanted to see the vibrance of the colored.

But im not sure whether to get the diffused or clear white.

And how amber are the Amber's, I'm sure you understand what I mean by that.

    Thanks!

Sorry all!!! I was slammed with other big priorities and I couldn't find time to check in on TW. For rock lights, I'd go clear rather than diffused. The ambers are fairly amber (don't kill me for posting a Jeep image)IMG_0738.jpg

Mine are presently for camping as well. The amber is actually more yellow as shown in Taylor's Jeep pic and in my tent light pic that true amber. White LED + amber lens = yellow output. For camping lights I would recommend using the amber Cyclones if the use is ambient camp lighting. Yellow light is much softer on your eyes for camping at night and warmer color temps are more relaxing vs bright white which is better for task oriented purposes. Yellow light also has the added benefit that it does not attract bugs, unlike white light.
