I'm not aware of any other major company providing that level of photometric data, so I don't think anything is "missing." But I'll see what our team can do in the future!

EDIT: I see you've added data from Hella. Thanks.

As I said in the last post, they have passed all required testing for compliance including the ones you've mentioned.

There are no inconsistencies in the information we provide that I am aware of. If you have questions about the product, please ask - I can answer them for you.

    Thanks!

Paul and team, if nothing else we really appreciate your participation in forum discussion. Speaking of which, how much reduction in output do those smoked/yellow lens covers provide? I'm working on some mounting brackets for my 4Runner and might be interested in keeping the grill "clean" for day to day use.

Smoked is a major reduction in output, not very usable. I would say perhaps 35% of original output.

Yellow is very usable, perhaps 80% of original output (but that has a lot to do with the color shift as well).

Yellow cover + yellow lamps provides a nice amber color, as a side note (for anyone looking for that for an off-road application).

    Thanks,
    Paul

Can I just say how badass it is to not only have vendors representation here, but some seriously smart guys in the community who know the ins and outs and no bullshit inner workings of things deeper than just "yeah this looks cool"

    Amber is a signaling color.

Selective yellow is a road illumination device (RID) color.

Yes, though the covers are not claimed to be SAE compliant. Others offer similar covers as well like KC and Rigid.

Would you recommend upgrading the wiring harness to run DD SS3 Pros? I'm looking at the solution from your ultimate fog upgrade thread. I assume the vendor could terminate in deutsch connectors vs H11

Just picked up a set of SS3 Pros and am eagerly awaiting your studies

Funny thing, there is a brand that tried to sell "SAE" fogs lights and call themselves "The Scientists of Lighting" lol bullshit

No, the Pros are 36w vs the OEM H11 halogen fogs are 55w, so the LEDs are quite a bit less than stock. A heavy gauge harness would offer no benefit and just introduce an additional failure point with an unnecessary relay.

I don't disagree, however I also have Amber squadron pros mounted on a Rago hidden bumper bracket and I'm about to install a 10" Onx6+ down there too. Just an immense amount of light down the road lol.

Yeah I don't really see much, if any, science when going through Baja Design's website. I do see, however, a bunch of unmitigated bullshit and wildly optimistic candela values and some pretty outdated looking reflector designs that don't even pass the sniff test.

You see a candela spec?! Typically they just publish raw lumens which is completely useless in evaluating performance.

inb4 someone says, "did you actually aim them?" because the aiming does look horrible

The top of the fog beam looks mid window on the white SUV

Fogs aimed above the fog mounting position will rise with distance. They should not be aimed higher than the fog light mounting position on the bumper. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
