So I literally joined TW just to thank @crashnburn80 for all of his time, energy and albeit money on this testing. Back in early November I started searching for fog light options for my 18 Tundra. I really wanted the BDs but then found out all the issues with compliance. I was holding off on the redesign but then the DD SS3s popped up. I found this thread and I have literally read every single page and have been lurking on it since November haha. I even saw somebody had linked my review from Tundras.com on this thread of my DD SS3 Pros Selective Yellow

Anyway, I got in on the pre buy and got some of the first batch. These lights are phenomenal! So glad I found these and decided to give them a shot. Because of your research, you solidified my anticipation of the clear lenses being made available and the output to expect. Those show up tomorrow. But thank you for all of your work. I’m truly thankful the amount of time and detail you put into all of this.

Welcome! This thread is cloned over on Tundras.com though it was misplaced in the 'detailing' section initially and I think it got copied with the updated content to another section on that site. Good choice on the Diode Dynamics over Baja, DD is 3x the output intensity and less light spill above the horizon than Baja.

The 4000k output color with clear lenses is amazing, and you gain 9% output intensity by my measurements. I personally like selective yellow for poor weather conditions that I'd use fogs in, but if wanting a white fog the Diode Dynamics 4000k is the best color temp and highest output intensity on the market.

LOL! Too much economic boom in the Seattle area, no vacant land is safe.

Our winter nights are damp and foggy and spring and summer is typically dry at night. So I’m thinking I’ll have a solid option for each season.

    4x4 just starting to mod!
Any word on mounting brackets for an 08? Currently debating Rigids with Rago mounts but waiting to see if DD is going to come out with something in the near future! Any info would be great!

@Diode Dynamics had said they would be releasing mounts for 05-11 soon. Unsure on the timeline.

Finally received Rigid's 360 mounts and got them installed yesterday. Thank you to Morgan @sidetracked for the great pricing on both the lights and the adapters. Only had one minor issue with the kit. The male H11 plugs provided weren't plug-n-play right out of the box. Had to remove a seemingly unnecessary tab on the bottom of the plug which was preventing the plug from seating/clicking into the OEM female wiring harness. Other than that, install was straight forward. Big thank you to Crash as well for all of the insight he shares with the community.

I have no plans to test the covers. A cover will not be as efficient as using a colored lens. Here is what Diode Dynamics said about the covers:

    Looks sharp!

I mounted up my new SS3 Clear Pro Fogs yesterday. Once it got dark I was able to test them out. They are crazy impressive. BUT now my headlights look super yellow and need replaced too. :annoyed:

Just get the yellow fogs, then your headlights will seem white.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Who would have thought talking about fog lights would have been such a hot topic?

Yea, I will likely upgrade my headlights to something more white in the future for a closer match.

interesting! I didn’t consider that at all. I assumed the color between them was the same. Good bit of info!

SAE markings on the lens makes more sense with the swappable optics.

I didn’t even notice that haha. Their design team is definitely doing their job.
