Does this all happen in the relation (percentage) of the size of the lens to the size of the emitters? In other words if the pros were in a bigger housing they could be more focused?

Not that I'd want a bigger housing, I'm just trying to fully understand.

Basically, yes. It is relative geometry.

For a given reflector design and fixed light source output, you can improve focus and intensity by either shrinking the light source or inversely by making the reflector optic larger.

@crashnburn80 do you happen to know the Torx bit size for the SS3 to swap the lens. Just tried to swap them and I have too big and too small. But not the one I need lol.

If the Sports were available in 4000°K and white (SAE driving) lenses without additional expenditure, I probably would have pulled the trigger. At least in my opinion, even 5000°K is pushing it for putting usable light on the road.

they're so cheap compared to the competitors even if you buy yellow sports + white lens. Plus, you'll have both lenses for different road conditions.

Had moisture in one of my KC G4's, but hadn't got it taken care of. Yesterday I noticed that 1 of the lights was dead. I need to unhook it and try on the other side, to make sure it's a light issue.

    Kinda annoyed with them.

That is disappointing. KC does have a good warranty though, so they should take care of you if it is a defective product.

Just got off the phone with Diode Dynamics and they said that the SS3 Tacoma(GEN2) Kit should be coming out in the next 30 day. :bananadance:

I just installed @Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro on the Tundra. My only complaint is with the design of the OEM bezel. It wiggles in the bumper, and the fog light bracket wiggles in the bezel.

Had to get crazy with some zip ties. Video of the install and tips here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LG1SxoMpb8

Toyota's fog mount is a terrible design. But that does look to have play in the video. Did the OEM fog do the same? I'm surprised the bezel does not have a locking retainer clip like the Tacoma, though on the Tacoma the fog mounts to the bumper, not the bezel. Were you able to secure it firmly with the zip ties?
