I’ve been getting the impression that daily driver reliability is dependent on environment. I live in the city in California where I don’t get extreme weather so I just ordered my sports. Now if I lived in a more rural area that is actually subjected to actual fog, snow or rain then I would have gone pros

My comments were in reference to the installation of Rigid's 360 Series mounts.

Personally, if you're going to be using the fog lights as fog lights, from what I've read of the patterns here, I'd go with the Sports and what sounds like less upward stray light.

I ended up upgrading my order to the Pro’s before they shipped out. I made up my mind after considering some snow weather driving that I may do, and the fact that the fog pattern benefits more from the increased output of the pros vs a spot pattern. Can’t wait to get them installed.

So I'm gonna swap out my Morimotos soon. Don't need the yellow. But not sure about Sports or Pros. Have Hella H9s high and low. Thanks

Having tried the Morimotos a few years ago, the Sports will be a very significant upgrade. The Pros will absolutely blow you away.

I just installed my ss3 fogs yesterday and so far they are pretty great. My only thing is aiming them is proving to be weird for e oddly enough. I did as instructed and didn’t tighten all the way initially and moved them down to aim. But as I tighten when the desired height is reached it just pushes them back up.

    Any suggestions for this?

Installed my pro yellows a couple days back. I tightened them down prior to installing them to the truck just tight enough that I can still move them by hand with a good push. They feel pretty secured and if there’s any movement it’s going to be from the entire housing and bracket shaking if anything as it’s just that one screw and tabs securing it. I’ve got mine pushed all the way down and I think the light output is great so far.

I did manage to cross thread one nut so bad that I snapped a bolt. Rookie mistake and not fun drilling out the stud to get the nut back out. Take your time and don’t do what I did, it’s easy to cross thread it as the nut isn’t held it just sits in that channel.

super happy so far, can’t wait to get some fog to try them out.

I just lined the Allen bolt to the middle of the bracket, then tightened with the light pointed all the way down. Worked out perfect for me. Also installed SpartenX hood scoop light. I’m good for now :DECE332E0-3075-4832-A82E-549F0CE7B4C9.jpg

I did the same as covered in my review post, very easy to aim this way and I don’t have any concerns of them moving short of them being deliberately tampered with.

I think I may have worded my statement oddly. I’m having problems lowering the aim level to them, I’m worried they are aimed too high. When I attempt to aim them down tightening the screws raise it back up.

You may have the light positioned in the bracket too far forward so the top/back of the light is hitting before you get the adjustment you need.

I understood. If you tighten it down so it is firm and wont move on its own but is still movable by force, then you can aim the lights externally and not need to tighten the bolts afterward causing the readjustment. Also note the placement in my SS3 review post, if the light is pushed too far forward, the housing will interfere with the bumper limiting aiming. Too far back and the light body will interfere with the mount limiting aiming. I would recommend centering the light in the mount which allowed for plenty of aiming room, and using the method described above made aiming very simple.

I had no fitment problems with the nylon lock nut and bolt. It isn’t my favorite design but DD has better tolerances than other manufactures with that design.

Ohh okay I get what you mean now. I didn’t realize that it could be pushed too far forward with how it installs by sliding into the inner brackets like that. I’ll take a look when it’s light outside

Just installed my @Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport fog lights.
    DAMN these puppies are bright.
Install and adjustment was easy as can be. Everything fit perfect. Just follow the directions @crashnburn80 gives on this thread and you can't go wrong.

I was specifically referring to the loose nut cradled on the back of the pod design for attaching the mounting the brackets to the light, which is standard for pods and not my favorite design. It isn't a big deal once mounted, but the Rigid 360s use a securing strap on the nut to secure it in place which is a cleaver design improvement and Baja uses threaded bodies (no lock nut) which are really nice as long as you don't strip the aluminum threads. I had no issues with the mounts on the truck as long as you realize the 12-15 Tacomas need to only use the top securing screw on the bumper. The brackets allow plenty of adjustability as long as you don't push the light too far forward or backward in the mount. Noting those two specific instructions, I really don't see the need to make new custom mounting brackets.

if this is level ground, yes it would.

why isn't proper aiming being addressed? we get it, you have SAE fogs. Aim them correctly please.

FYI, fog beams should NOT be close to the low beams on the truck. should i post monthly for a fog adjustment reminder? lol

Make one for people's headlights while you're at it. Seems like 7 out of 10 vehicles on the road have brights on nowadays.

Nope, not age or night blindness either..............

I know my halogens and morimoto led fogs aren't blinding anybody.
