Does anyone know how to aim the ss3 pros on a 3rd gen? I'm getting a pair and want to make sure I set them up right from the start. I don't know aim foglights in general or light for that matter lol

The easiest way will be to install one at a time, then aim the light cut off to match the cut off of your existing OEM halogen fog. I'd suggest tightening the mounts so they are very snug, but so that you can still move the light with sufficient force when mounted, as that makes aiming super simple. Then install the other light and aim the cut off to match the first one.

BTW you are super local. :)

I've got a 2016 SR5 and I just ordered some GE megalight ultra +130 for my low beams. Any compelling reason not to pop an extra set of those suckers in the fog light housing?

Diode Dynamics SAE fog is the 'BE-ALL, END-ALL' SAE fog to date.

that's all you need to know aside from aiming them properly.

    end of thread.

The GE Megalights +130 won't fit an 3rd Gen SR5 fog, those fogs take H16 bulbs which are very low output. If you swapped to a TRD Sport/OR H11 fog assembly then yes they would be a good upgrade option.

Thanks for the heads up and an awesome thread! Just ordered yellow Pro’s and clear lenses. Backordered, but worth the wait.

Do you suggest the Sport SS3 or the PRO SS3 white led?

You can see the entire review in post #2725 here to look at the data for yourself: Diode Dynamics SS3

For fog and poor weather use, I would recommend selective yellow over white. If still wanting to go with 6000k white, the Pros have a taller pattern and higher intensity output and run hotter to resist freezing, but the Sports have sharper cut offs. If you run your fogs all the time, the Sports are a better option to reduce glare and are more street friendly to other motorists. If you run them only when really needed or in cold snowy climates, the Pros are higher output and will better resist freezing over.

Pulled the trigger on the SS3 Sports in White. They were 169 and free shipping on Amazon. And they are only a week out . I run my fogs a lot and think the Sports were a better choice because of it.

Can you post link just for the lenses? I already have the yellow pros but looking for the clear lense replacement. Maybe I’m blind but can’t find where to just order them:notsure: on their website.

Installed the Diode Dynamics SAE Clear Fogs yesterday. Much brighter than my Morimotos. Night road test confirms it. Love emIMG_20200402_181252.jpg

I just received the yellow ss3 sport today for my 2nd Gen. Has anyone here used any special security bolts to secure their aftermarket fogs? I like to think the best of people, but the thought has crossed my mind of someone grabbing these off my truck.

If they are installed in the OEM location I wouldn’t worry about it personally. The stock mount screws are not very user friendly to access. If you have them installed in the open on top of a plate bumper it may be something to consider.

@crashnburn80 Thanks for the insight! I'm excited to install these tomorrow. I did the harness/bulb upgrade that you posted about way back when...such a huge difference!

Diode Dynamics tested very well for reasonable money. That’s the direction I went with their Sports.
